Garden Sheds
Here at Garden Promos, we offer all you could ask for when it comes to creating the best outdoor space at your home. We sell over one hundred different garden sheds from small to large, serving the needs of gardeners, families, man caves and more!
We offer sheds made from wood, metal and plastic and sized from as little as 6 ×4 for compact storage, to as big as 20 ×10 for the ultimate sheds and workshop solutions.
The price of sheds can really vary. The most expensive are professional quality sheds, able to store all garden equipment securely. Often made in heavy-duty metal which is fully galvanized (weather proof) and features a built-in metal floor and large double door access. All our sheds benefit from styrene windows, which means they won’t shatter, no matter the weather.
The sheds that we supply are suitable for self-assembly, complete with full instructions and all the fixings you need. If you prefer, we can offer an installation service on many of our wooden, metal or pent sheds. Our garden sheds can be shipped for free to most UK mainland postcodes. Garden-Sheds
When it comes to selecting the perfect garden shed to complete your outdoor space, there may be a few queries along the way. We want to make sure that you are fully informed before you make your decision and that when you do buy, you are buying with confidence.
Here’s a look at some of the things that you’ll need to consider when buying your shed:
Planning permission and garden sheds
Generally speaking, you do not require planning permission to erect a garden shed. There are certain exceptions though. These include if a shed covers over half of your garden space and is used for non-domestic reasons. It may also require permission if it is over 3 meters high with a pent roof or 4 metres high with an apex one. If you are in any doubt, the best course of action is to contact your local planning department to seek advice.
Do I need to prepare for my garden shed?
Once you have chosen the ideal spot for your new garden shed, you are going to need to make sure that there is a base for it to sit on. The location of your shed needs to be flat and firm. The best base to stand it on would be a purpose-built concrete one. This tends to be permanent but can be costly. A cost-effective alternative would be to use paving slabs.
You do need to make sure that your shed is on level ground and has a firm base: without this, you are likely to cause damage.
Installing electrics into your garden shed
Many of our customers look to add electricity to their garden sheds. At times this is just so that a light can be added and for others, they are wanting sockets so that they can plug in tools. Adding electrics to your shed is a simple enough task, however, it is not something that you should do yourself. Since 2005 you will need to instruct an electrician who is Part P registered.
What size shed do I need?
When it comes to selecting the ideal size for your garden shed it is a matter of personal preference. Of course, the space that you have available in your garden is a factor and we recommend having a space of at least 18” all the way around the shed so that it is easy to maintain. Beyond that, if you know that your shed is going to get plenty of use it is often best to buy the biggest one that falls into your budget and fits your garden space.
What is the best material for a garden shed?
We provide a range of wooden, metal, and plastic garden sheds to choose from. Wooden garden sheds provide the traditional look that many of us crave. Metal sheds can offer an extra layer of security when it comes to storing any gardening equipment. Plastic sheds can offer a cost-effective way to add some additional storage space in your garden.
